Questions

Is sahjan the same as moringa?
Yes. Sahjan (or murungai in Tamil) is the Indian name for the moringa tree; this powder is milled from the leaves of Moringa oleifera, the same plant sold worldwide as moringa.
Is this true Moringa oleifera and not another species?
It is single-species Moringa oleifera only. We do not use Moringa stenopetala or blend species, so the leaf, colour and flavour are consistent batch to batch.
How should I use it without losing the colour or flavour?
Add it off the heat or into cold and warm liquids rather than hard-boiling it. A teaspoon a day in a smoothie, soup or latte keeps the grassy character bright and the green vivid.
