Tulsi Tea

Tulsi Chai

A caffeine-free infusion of Rama and Krishna holy basil, organically grown across India's Indo-Gangetic plain where tulsi has been revered as the Queen of Herbs for millennia. The whole dried leaf steeps to a clear, golden cup with a warm, clove-and-mint aroma and a clean herbal finish. An everyday adaptogenic brew - sip it neat, sweeten with honey, or blend with ginger and lemongrass for a soothing evening wind-down.

Questions

Is tulsi the same as holy basil?
Yes. Tulsi is the Indian name for holy basil (Ocimum tenuiflorum), a sacred aromatic herb distinct from the sweet basil used in cooking. Our blend uses the Rama and Krishna morphotypes traditionally grown for infusions.
Does tulsi tea contain caffeine?
No. Tulsi is a herbal infusion with no caffeine, which makes it well suited to evening drinking and to anyone reducing their caffeine intake.
How do I brew tulsi tea?
Steep a teaspoon of leaf in freshly boiled water for five to seven minutes, then strain. It takes well to a second steep, and pairs naturally with honey, ginger or lemon.
